2021 has been a transformational year for the IABC DC Metro Chapter and Board. We are a passionate group of professionals, volunteering our time to support communication professionals in the DMV region.
We have an immediate need for a volunteer Director of Events to manage and direct the chapter events calendar. You will be working with an engaging and fun group of people in this rewarding role. Director of Events
This position creates, develops, and maintains the comprehensive event schedule for the chapter. Each year, the director prepares a balanced topic and speaker line-up that meets the diverse needs of chapters members, with board input. In addition, the director must meet the fiscal responsibilities of the board. This includes oversight of professional development events, young professional events, senior communicator forums, networking events, and any events deemed necessary. The ideal candidate for this role should have highly developed organizational and managerial skills, as this position involves recruiting and coordinating volunteers to help in implementing events and programs. This director maintains a close relationship with the marketing, communication, membership, and sponsorship directors.
